Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission Panther Update 01.19.18

On January 7th the FWC collected the remains of a 4 to 5 month old female on I75 near the 101 exit in Collier County. The cause of death was vehicle collision.

On January 8th FWC collected the remains of a 3 to 4 year old female on the Josie Billie Highway in Hendry County. The cause of death was vehicle collision.

And on January 13th, the FWC collected the remains of a 1 to 2 year old male on Immokalee at Wildwood in Collier County. The cause of death was vehicle collision.

Help with panther research by reporting sightings to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission

The FWC is asking the public to assist with Florida panther research and management by reporting sightings of the large feline to the agency’s panther sightings webpage.

The FWC is interested in photos of panthers or their tracks. Anyone lucky enough to capture this large cat on camera is encouraged to submit the picture and sighting location to: MyFWC.com/PantherSightings.
